Chrishaven provides community based living environments in modern duplexes located within the area of beautiful La Crosse, Wisconsin. Residents learn and practice skills to foster independent living, enhance social skills, and become active participants in their community. 
 

The Homes
 

Chrishaven is a non-profit corporation with a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community members. Chrishaven currently operates assisted living facilities in homes, under 3 distinct licensing categories offered by the Wisconsin Department of Health & Family Services:
 

• Group Homes
  (Group Foster Care - Adolescents from 12-18)
   
• Adult Family Homes
  (AFH’s - Adults / up to 4 bed facilities)
   
• Community Based Residential Facilities
  (CBRF’s - Adults / 5-8 bed facilities)

Enrollment Criteria
 

Chrishaven serves individuals with diagnoses of cognitive disabilities with the primary conditions being Mental Retardation and the associated behavioral and emotional difficulties. 

• Age Range from 12 through later adulthood
   
• Intellectual functioning from mild to severe cognitive disabilities
   
• Individual diagnoses may include:

Learning Disabilities
Ambulatory Motor Deficits
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Traumatic Brain Injury

Epilepsy & Seizure Disorders
Language Delays
Downs Syndrome
Fragile X Syndrome
Pervasive Developmental Disorders
